Kenyonna K. Merrick
Kenyonna “KeKe” Merrick is a single yet proud mother of two…Georian age 7 and Jiary age 6. She is a native of Lake City, Florida, who untimely was moved along with her three siblings to Orange Park, Florida by her then single mother. She too became a single mother at the age of 18. Feeling afraid, Kenyonna knew she had to do something and it would have to be fast in order to provide for her unborn child. She enrolled into a Dental Assistant program, graduated and began working fulltime and attending school on and off part-time. Kenyonna presently lives in Jacksonville, Florida and works as a laboratory technician for dental lab.
The inspiration for this book began while she was reading her personal journal entries she had written throughout the years. As she read she started to reflect back and realized everything she had been through at such a young age. Her trials and struggles were not in vain! She knew she needed to share her story and encourage next little girl, teenager, or woman who may be going through the very thing God had brought her out of. She wanted to be the voice to and for the bitter, bruised and broken girls, teens, and women. This book became her “therapy”.
Kenyonna is a member of the Potter’s House International Ministries in Jacksonville, Florida under the leadership of Bishop Vaughn and Lady Narlene McLaughlin. She loves to cook, read, paint, decorate, spend time with friends and family, watch and attend football and basketball games, bake cupcakes for her cupcake business, design tshirt logos and much more.
