Synopsis:

Confess and Believe is a reflective compilation of poems straight from the soul of Minister Lyvonne Briggs. This two-part collection lifts up Christ (John 12:32), addresses life experiences, and reveals true emotions. It will inspire, encourage, and challenge you. Confess consists of spoken word pieces that range from commentary on the modern Church to testimonials about domestic violence. Intended for animated performance portrayals, readers become listeners with an accompanying compact disc. Believe contains poems that are meant to be read in either personal quiet time or a group setting. These sonnets and freeform works offer food for thought by addressing universal existential concerns.

About the Author:

Lyvonne "Proverbs" Briggs is a NYC native and graduate of the Lawrenceville School and Seton Hall University. She is an ordained minister and offers a gift in poetry and spoken word. She is currently working on her Master's of Divinity at Yale Divinity School and hopes to work with women's and youth initiatives focused on visual and performing arts.
